The water feature focal point of this courtyard was completely hidden with overgrown plants. Once we removed the large ferns, and aggressive ground cover, the feature was exposed, but needed a face-lift. We spruced up the feature by re-designing the water fall, and adding new river cobbles to fill in the open areas. Dwarf hostas were added to accent and soften the area.
Mature plant size is an important consideration in plant shopping for small spaces. “Dwarf” plants are ideal to remain small once they reach full maturity. The type of exposure is also important. For this project a plant that loves shade was crucial, as the area got limited sunlight.
Our clients (and their neighbors) all agree this transformation brought out a hidden gem for all to enjoy.
